Hazards due to noise emission
•
Never operate loudspeakers/headphones at high volumes
for a prolonged period of time. This may damage your hear-
ing and act as a disturbance to your surroundings.
•
Any setting other than the middle setting of the equaliser can increase the
sound pressure level and thus damage your hearing.
•
In case of any changes to the pre-installed audio software, the driver or
the operating system, a higher audio output signal can lead to hearing
damages.
•
Never operate loudspeakers in dangerous situations, e.g. when working
with machines. Distractions caused by sound reduces your attention and
can lead to accidents.
•
Even if your headphones are designed in such a way that they ensure
that outside sounds can still be heard, never set the volume so high that
you can no longer hear what is going on around you. Only use head-
phones with an impedance of min. 32 ohm, e.g. the SENNHEISER HD
437.
Additional Safety Instructions for devices with Wireless LAN (WLAN)
Included in the delivery with the PC is a USB WLAN stick. It is important to
adhere to the following safety instructions when handling the PC and the
activated USB WLAN stick:
•
If you are in a hospital, an operating theatre or in the vicinity of a medical
electronics system, unplug the USB WLAN stick! The transmitted radio
waves can impair the functionality of the medical devices.
•
Keep the PC with activated USB WLAN stick at least 20 cm away from
any pacemakers, since the proper functioning of the pacemaker can be
impaired by radio waves.
•
The transmitted radio waves can cause interference in hearing aids.
•
Do not place the PC with activated USB WLAN stick in the vicinity of
flammable gases or in an explosion-hazard environment (e.g. paint
shop), since the transmitted radio waves can cause an explosion or a fire.
•
The range of the wireless connection is dependent on conditions in the
surrounding environment.
•
In case of data traffic via a wireless connection, it is also possible for un-
authorised third parties to receive data.
