TROUBLESHOOTING
To Lower the Boom
If the hoe attachment must be lowered to
the ground while the engine is stopped, use
the following procedure to do so.
This operation is dangerous and requires
experience. Have it performed by a
Takeuchi sales or service outlet.
Procedure
WARNING
�
Do not approach in the area of the
ground where the hoe attachment is
to be lowered. You may be hit by dirt
falling out of the bucket or the hoe
attachment as it drops.

Turn the shut-off valve’s set screw
slowly so that the boom lowers slowly.
Do not turn the screw more than the
specified amount.
1. Loosen the bolts and remove the left side
cover (1).
2. Gripping the set screw (2) with a
hexagonal wrench so that it does not
turn together with the lock nut (3), loosen
the lock nut (3).
3. Turn the set screw (2) slowly 1/4 turns to
lower the boom.
4. Check for safety and machine stability.
5. Turn the set screw (2) back to its original
position.
6. Gripping the set screw (2) with a
hexagonal wrench so that it does not
turn together with the lock nut (3), tighten
the lock nut (3).
• Tightening torque: 19.6 N·m (14.5 ft-lb.)
7. Close the left side cover (1).
