MAINTENANCE
Replacing the Travel Motor Gear
Oil
WARNING

Stop the engine and allow the machine
to cool down before performing
maintenance.
• The travel motors are hot directly
after the engine is stopped. Touching
them will cause burns.
• The gear oil is also hot and under
high pressure.
Be careful when loosening plugs.
Working on the machine under these
conditions could result in burns or
injuries.

The pressure in the travel motor
reduction gears case may cause oil
or the plug to fly out. Loosen the plug
slowly to release the pressure.
IMPORTANT: If the percentage of the
traveling time within the total operating
time is high, replace the gear oil earlier
than the specified time.
1. Set the travel motor so that plug (2) is at
the very bottom.
2. Place a pan for catching the spent oil
under plug (2).
3. Remove plugs (1) and (2) and drain the
oil.
4. Wrap new sealing tape around the plugs.
5. Tighten plug (2).
