1. The AM loop antenna must remain connected even when using an external AM
antenna as it forms part of the AM tuning circuit
In order to receive AM radio signals, your T32R needs to be
connected to an AM antenna. A loop antenna is supplied which will
give in most cases good AM performance.
Assemble the AM loop antenna as shown in the diagrams.
First unwrap the twisted wire (about 3 turns), leaving the remaining
wire in place on the coil.
Push out the foot from the middle of the coil. Fold the foot around as
shown in the diagrams. Push the tab on the coil into the slot in the
foot until it clicks.
Connect the loop antenna to the screw terminals on the rear of the
T32R marked
AM ANTENNA am loop
.
Turn the AM loop to get the best reception. Putting the AM loop near
a window can also help. However, because the loop antenna forms
part of the AM tuning circuit, you should not add any extension
wires between it and the T32R.
If you want to improve AM reception, you should use a high-
performance outdoor AM antenna which should be connected
to the terminal on the rear of the T32R marked
AM ANTENNA

. Reception will be further improved if you
connect the terminal marked
AM ANTENNA external ground
to
earth. If in doubt consult a qualified contractor to do this. You should
have your antenna installed by a qualified contractor to make sure
you get the best possible signal and that the installation is safe.
