when receiving
fm
The mono selection mode only works in FM. When ‘mono’ is not
selected, the display automatically shows either ‘stereo’ or ‘mono’
depending on the encoding of the incoming signal.
Inter-station muting silences weak signals which would otherwise
make a loud hiss. If the FM or AM station you want to listen to has
a weak signal, press the
muting
button on the front panel or the
muting
key on the Remote so that ‘muting’ indicator is not
displayed.
If you want to hear even the weakest stations (which may be
suppressed with ‘muting’ on) while you are tuning manually, press
the
muting
button or key so that ‘muting’ is not displayed

The hi-blend filter, which only works with stereo reception in FM,
reduces noise at the expense of high-frequency stereo separation.
When the hi-blend filter is on, ‘hi-blend’ is shown on the display

.
Press the
hi-blend
button on the front panel or the
hi-blend
key on
the Remote to switch
hi-blend
on or off.

1. Even with ‘muting’ off, a partial muting of 15dB is applied while the tuning knob
is being turned to prevent unpleasant noises being heard through your
loudspeakers
2. This only happens when a station broadcasting in stereo is received. If ‘mono’ is
selected, ‘hi-blend’ will still be active but will have no effect
