Hemispherical Probe

The hemispherical probe (see Figure 4.16) is

used with the standard quartz stage to obtain

softening point data on substances. It is installed,

operated, and calibrated using the same proce-

dures as for the standard expansion and penetra-

tion probes. Refer to Chapter 2, “Installing the

TMA 2940 CE,” for information on installation.
