7.  Replacement Procedures – Active Midplane – Li-ION 
Battery 

7.1 To remove the RAID battery backup unit, follow these steps: 

Step 1

 Remove the PCI riser assembly.  

Step 2 

Remove the processor air duct.  

Step 3 

Remove the large air baffle.  

Step 4 

Remove the cable from the rear of the RAID battery backup unit and the midplane board (A). 

Step 5 

Slide the RAID battery backup unit away from the power supply and lift from theserver system (B).
