9.  Symantec firmware update procedures for SIEM 9750,
SIEM 9751

,

 and SIEM

9752

After you replace a chassis, you should update the Symantec firmware. Before you begin, determine
which, if any, of the following updates need to be applied. In some cases there is more than one version
of the firmware. You need to determine the CORRECT version of firmware to use during the update
process. Note: the current version may not always be the CORRECT version. You may or may not need
the current version depending on your application and the hardware at this site. Consult the Symantec
Statement of Work (SOW) and/or the Symantec revision control system to determine the correct version
for this system at this site.

1.  Power on the server.
2.  During POST, press the F2 key when prompted to access the BIOS Setup Utility.
3.  In BIOS Setup, select the BOOT MANAGER menu.
4.  Select EFI and press enter.
5.  Enter the command:

FS0:

6.  Navigate to the directory where you previously placed the firmware update files.
7.  Based on what needs to be updated, run the appropriate commands below. Note: you might need to

run only one of these commands, all of these commands, or none of these commands depending on
what needs to be updated.

-----

To update the Integrated BMC and Intel Remote Management Module 3 firmware, type the following
command:

Fwpiaupd -u -b -bin -o -pia -ni XXXXXX

Where XXXXXX is the firmware file (for example “symantec_nei_058_v1.ima”.)

-----

To update the BIOS, type the following command:

IFlash32.efi XXXXXX /u /ni

Where XXXXXX is the BIOS file (for example “NEI_SYMANTEC_LOGO_BLACK_S5520UR_R0057.cap”)

-----

To update the ME Firmware, type the following command:

fwpiaupd -u -o -b -address=2c -bin -ni XXXXXX

Where XXXXXX is the BIOS file (for example, “SPS_01_01_02_007_ME_FW_DIB.bin”)
