7.1 Introduction
The SG-DRL5, DRL5E, and DRL5-2L are Telco interface line cards for receiving signals from remote communicators over a Telco interface. There are
three variants of this module:
SG-DRL5 - Single line PSTN card.
SG-DRL5E - Single line PSTN card with backup channel and 2-way audio bridge.
SG-DRL5-2L - Dual line PSTN card.
NOTE: Not all variants are available in all markets.
7.2 Profiles introduction
The SG-DRL5 virtual receiver loads unique profiles in order to effectively communicate with control panels. A profile is a set of pre-programmed line
card options unique for a particular DNIS number. The DNIS points to a particular profile, which is then be loaded into the line card before the first
handshake is sent. It is essential that the correct option be programmed for a profile in order to correctly communicate with the control panel. Each vir-
tual receiver can have a maximum of 64 profiles. To change the options for a particular profile, the SG-System 5 Console software is provided. Users
can use this software to edit the profiles.
NOTE: DNIS (Dialled Number Identification Service): This number represents the dialled number, or the number being called. ANI (Auto-
matic Number Identification): This number represents the source of a call and allows the system to determine the handshake pro-
tocol. Caller ID: This number identifies the source of a call. For the purpose of this document, Caller ID and ANI are referred to as
Caller ID, but both cannot be used at the same time. Contact your provider to determine which service is available. DNIS cannot
be used with Caller ID, only ANI.
DNIS or Caller ID can be used for profile selection.
