11.1 Wireline Simulator Specifications

Types of Cable: Balanced twisted copper pair. Including:
0.9, 0.63, 0.5, 0.4, 0.32 mm (ADSL) with R, L, C as defined in ITU-T G.996.1
Test Loops:
Loop 1 to 8 (as per ETSI TS 101 388)
D.C. Rating: Up to 300 V peak AC+DC across tip & ring, 100 mA (150 mA peak)
D.C. Current Rating: 100 mA (150 mA peak)
Bandwidth: D.C. to 1.5 MHz.
Attenuation: Up to 90 dB over the specified bandwidth
Accuracy: Loop 1-6 & 8 MAE < 0.5 dB over band used by DUT to a maximum of 90dB in
ideal conditions. Loop 7 MAE < 1.0 dB over band used by DUT to a maximum
of 90dB in ideal conditions.
Average Noise Floor: -150dBm/Hz within the ADSL Band
Construction: Main chassis plus plug-in controller, wireline modules, and noise impairment
generator modules (optional)
Connectors: 3-pin balanced CF and RJ-45 for differential output. BNC connector for external
signals input

The unit can be controlled via an IEEE 488 interface. The unit supports the following functions:
