1-4-11. PAN Shaft Assembly

When disconnecting/connecting the fine-wire coaxial cable, be sure to disconnect/connect at the connec-
tor portion. When disconnecting/connecting at the lead wire portion, it may cause the break of the fine-wire
coaxial cable.
1. Remove the cabinet. (Refer to Section 1-3.)
2. Remove the CN-3766 board. (Refer to Section 1-4-1.)
3. Remove the FCB assembly. (Refer to Section 1-4-2.)
4. Remove the center cabinet. (Refer to Section 1-4-3.)
5. Remove the bottom plate. (Refer to steps 1 and 2 in Section 1-4-4.)
6. Remove the TILT chassis assembly and base cabinet. (Refer to Section 1-4-8.)
7. Remove the PAN shaft subassembly and timing belt. (Refer to steps 7 to 16 in Section 1-4-9.)
8. Remove the three screws, then remove the PAN pulley.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

When attaching the PAN pulley, align the boss of the
PAN shaft assembly with the hole of the PAN pulley.
1-5. Lead-free Solder
All boards mounted in this unit use lead-free solder. Be sure to use lead-free solder when repairing the
boards of this unit. A lead free mark (LF) indicating that the solder contains no lead is printed on each
board.
(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with the lead free mark due to their particular
size.)

The lead-free solder melts at a temperature about 40
d
C higher than the ordinary solder, therefore, it is
recommended to use the soldering iron having a temperature regulator.

The ordinary soldering iron can be used but the iron tip has to be applied to the solder joint for a slightly
longer time. The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if the heated tip is applied for too long, so
be careful.
