Operating Instructions
To talk from the handset to the base
phone
1 Handset: Pick up the handset from the
charger and press
intercom
.
The base phone starts to ring.
2 Base phone: Pick up the receiver.
You can start talking between the handset and
the base phone.
3 When you finish talking, return the
receiver to the base phone, or return the
handset to the charger or press
off
.
To interrupt an intercom call
Base phone:
Press
intercom/name ask
again.
Handset:
Press
intercom
again.
If you receive a call while making an intercom call
The intercom call is interrupted. You have to receive
a call either on the base phone or the handset.
Base phone:
Return the receiver to the base phone
and pick it up again.
Handset:
Press
talk
after the handset rings.
Notes
• On the handset, a beep sounds before ringing.
• Return the receiver to the base phone even when you
answer the call on the handset.
On-hook dialing
You can make a call without picking up the receiver.
This is convenient when you wish to check who is
calling before answering or when you wish to listen
to a time announcement or weather forecast.
1 Press
on hook
with the receiver placed on
the base phone.
You will hear a dial tone.
2 Dial the number using the number
buttons.
3 Pick up the phone after you hear the
called party's voice.
If you just listened to time announcement or
weather forecast without picking up the receiver,
press
on hook
again to disconnect the line.
Notes
• If the called party's voice is low, you may not be able to
hear the voice clearly.
• If it is noisy, the called party's voice may be interrupted.
We recommend you use this function in a quiet place.
• If you have pressed a wrong button, press
on hook
and
start all over again.
Adjusting the speaker volume
The volume is factory-set to medium.
While listening to the voice or recorded messages
from the speaker,
press the ringer/handset speaker volume
or
.
Switching between on-hook dialing and normal
conversation
To switch from on-hook dialing to normal
conversation, pick up the receiver.
To switch to on-hook dialing while speaking into the
receiver, press
on hook
.
Speed dialing
(base phone)
You can dial with a touch of a few buttons by storing
a phone number on a dialing button.
Storing phone numbers
1 Press
flash/program
with the receiver
placed on the base phone.
A voice guide is heard.
2 Press

speed dial

A voice guide is heard.
3 Press one of the dialing buttons (
0
–
9
) where you want to store a phone
number.
4 Enter the phone number you wish to
store.
You can enter up to 20 digits. Make sure you
enter the area code first.
5 Press
flash/program
.
The stored phone number is announced for
confirmation.
A voice guide instructs you to pick up the
receiver and record the name for a name
announcement.
If you do not want to record the name for name
announcement, press
play/stop
.
To record the name for name announcement,
proceed to step 6.
6 Pick up the receiver and after you hear a
beep, speak into the receiver to record
the name.
A beep will sound for confirmation. Recording
ends 2 seconds after the beep, and then a second
beep and the recorded name will be heard.
