Overview
Features
The SIU-100/100T System Interface Unit is an
interface unit used for mounting option boards such as
ones designed for the DMX-R100 digital audio mixer.
You can mount up to 8 option boards in the SIU-100/
100T. The SIU-100/100T allows you to interface with
other audio systems in addition to the DMX-R100
digital mixer audio system.
Combining various kinds of option boards means that a
large number of convenient functions are available.
This enables you to set up various system
configurations to meet your needs.
Installing up to 8 option boards from among
the following 9 kinds of option boards
DMBK-R101
Inputs balanced analog signals (+4 dBu standard).
DMBK-R102
Outputs balanced analog signals (+4 dBu standard).
DMBK-R103
Inputs/outputs AES/EBU signals.
DMBK-R104
Inputs AES/EBU signals or optical signals such as
those from consumer CD players.
DMBK-R105
Inputs/outputs unbalanced analog signals (0 dBu
standards).
DMBK-R106
Connects external devices such as ADAT interface
boards, or external devices such as tape recorders that
have an ADAT interface.
DMBK-R107
Connects external devices such as tape recorders that
have a TDIF interface.
DMBK-R109
Connects external devices such as recorders that have a
MADI interface.
Notes
• Up to 2 DMBK-R109s can be installed in slots 1 and
2 only.
• This board can be used only with DMX-R100
software version 2.1 or later when using the DMX-
R100.
DMBK-S101
Has been specially designed only for the SIU-100/
100T.
This board installed in the SIU-100/100T enables
remote control of the PAD, Gain and +48V on/off
parameters.
Multiple inputs/outputs expansion for a DMX-
R100 (option)
By inserting DMBK-R109 MADI boards into a DMX-
R100 and a SIU-100/100T respectively, 48 channel
digital audio signals can be input and output. This
allows you to expand the input/output channels
available to up to 48 channels.
Mic input expansion using the DMBK-S101
(option)/remote control of the DMBK-S101
using the SIU-RM101 (option)
Up to 7 DMBK-S101s can be inserted into the SIU-
100/100T. Thus, expansion to up to 56 channels of mic
input is available.
You can adjust the gain and set PAD on/off and +48V
power on/off on the DMBK-S101 Mic Pre Amp board
using the controls on the front panel of the SIU-100/
100T. Also, the SIU-RM101 Remove Control Unit,
which has been designed specially for the DMBK-
S101, enables remote control of the parameters of the
DMBK-S101.
Note
Forty eight channels can be input to the DMX-R100
via the DMBK-R109, which are then routed into the
MADI board among a maximum of 56 input channels.
Flexible routing among input/output channels
You can set up routings among inputs and outputs of
all boards inserted into the SIU-100/100T.
The SIU-100/100T can accommodate a routing matrix
of 160 channels x 160 channels when two DMBK-
R109 MADI Boards and six DMBK-R103 8CH AES/
EBU DIO Boards have been inserted into the SIU-100/
100T.
Scene storing/recalling
The SIU-100/100T can store up to 255 scenes. Recall a
desired scene, and the unit switches the operating
parameters of the SIU-100/100T instantly.
Since the SIU-100/100T is equipped with a MIDI IN
connector, the unit can recall a scene corresponding to
a MIDI signal (program change message) sent from the
DMX-R100 when the snapshot is changed.
