System Overview
HD VISUAL COMMUNICATION SERVER
The HD VISUAL COMMUNICATION SERVER is a multipoint connection
unit (MCU) that is in complete compliance with the H.323 protocol. It is
compatible with multipoint voice synthesis, voice-activated video switching,
etc., and provides central management of functions used for creating,
scheduling and editing meetings. An H.323 gatekeeper is also embedded in the
Meeting Server.
PC Endpoint
PC Endpoint is H.323 client software to be installed on a computer.
Installing the software on a computer allows that computer to connect to the
HD VISUAL COMMUNICATION SERVER. By operating Meeting Manager
on the computer, you can display up to 16 screens and share Office documents
and video files, in addition to communicating online with meeting participants.
For more information on PC Endpoint, refer to the operating instructions for
PC Endpoint.
Firewall Traversal
By using Firewall Traversal, you can traverse firewalls and NAT without a
VPN and communicate online between different local networks.
To use Firewall Traversal, a dedicated firewall/NAT traversal server (hereafter
referred to as “FT server”) must be set up on the same local network as the HD
VISUAL COMMUNICATION SERVER.
In addition, to use Firewall Traversal from an H.323 terminal, an FT group
client must be set up on the same local network as that terminal.
For more information on firewall/NAT traversal servers and FT group clients,
consult your local dealer.
