Cleaning the Lamp
Filters and Air Filter
The lamp filters and air filter should be cleaned
regularly. When it becomes difficult to remove the
dust from the filter, replace the filter with a new one.
Note
If the lamp filter is clogged, the message “Lamp
Temperature was too High” appears in the message
display window and the power may be turned off
automatically.
Cleaning the Lamp Filters
Caution
Immediately after turning off the power, the lamp is
extremely hot. To avoid getting burned, wait before
cleaning the lamp filters to give the lamp enough time
to cool down.

Detach the lamp from the projector.
For detaching and attaching the lamp, see “Replacing
Procedure” on page 41.

Detach the two lamp filters from the lamp.

Remove the dust from the lamp filters with a
vacuum cleaner or wash the filters.

Replace the lamp filters.

Reinstall the lamp to the projector.
Note
If the lamp filters are excessively dirty, wash them
with mild detergent solution and dry them in a shaded
place.

Press the STANDBY key to turn off the power of
the projector, then turn off the main power using
the POWER switch.

Remove the top cover and rear-top cover.

Loosen the two screws on the air filter and remove
it.

Remove the dust from the air filter with a vacuum
cleaner or wash it.

Replace the air filter.

Replace the rear-top cover.
Insert the tabs on the cover into the slots on the
projector.

Replace the top cover.
Notes
• If the air filter is excessively dirty, wash it with mild
detergent solution and dry it in a shaded place.
• Be sure to attach the top cover firmly; the power will
not be turned on if it is not closed securely.
