The SERVICE MODE Menus
The W/B ADJUST Menu
The W/B ADJUST menu sets the values of PRESET 1,
PRESET 2 and PRESET 3 of COLOR TEMP in the
PICTURE CTRL menu.
You can adjust the white balance for a particular input
signal and save the adjusted values to the input
memory.

Select the COLOR TEMP item to be set.

2 or PRESET 3, then press the

The projector enters into GAIN/BIAS adjustment
mode.

Select the item to be adjusted.
Use the
m
key to select the item.
Each time the
m
key is pressed, the selected color
item appears in the following order.
R (GAIN)

G (GAIN)

R (BIAS)
You can select the item using the W/B GAIN and
BIAS keys and ADJ R, G and B keys on the
Remote Commander as well as by the
m
key.

Adjust an item.
To increase the number, press the
,
key.
To decrease the number, press the
<
key.

Restore the original screen.
Press the ENTER key.
The original screen is restored.
To cancel the adjusted values
Turn off the projector. The saved data in the memory
will be retrieved when the projector is turned on again.
SAVE TO MEMORY
Saves the adjusted color temperature to the input
memory.
To save the adjusted values, select SAVE TO
MEMORY with the
M
or
m
key and press the ENTER
key.

Replacing the Lamp
Lamp Life
When it is time to replace the lamp, the message
“Please replace the Lamp.” appears on the screen when
you turn on the projector.

The message disappears when you press any key on
the control panel or the Remote Commander.
When “Danger! Lamp exploded” is displayed in the
message display window, it means the lamp is out of
order. Never open the lamp cover yourself; consult
with qualified Sony personnel.
Replacing Procedure
When replacing the lamp, use the LMP-L2000
Projector Lamp (not supplied).
Caution
Immediately after turning off the power, the lamp is
extremely hot. To avoid getting burned, wait before
changing the lamp to give it enough time to cool down.

Press the STANDBY key to turn off the power,
then wait for about 15 minutes.

After the ON indicator stops flashing, turn the
main power off with the POWER switch and wait
for about 30 minutes until the lamp cools down.

Turn the two screws on the lamp cover clockwise
or counterclockwise by 90 degrees using a coin or
a screwdriver to unlock.

Open the lamp cover by pulling down the upper
end of the cover.

Using a screwdriver, loosen the two screws on the
lamp cover. Then detach the lamp by pulling the
handles on the lamp.

Install a new lamp and close and lock the lamp
cover.
Perform steps
3
to
5
in the reverse order.
Caution
• Do not touch the inside of the lamp.
• If the lamp is not installed properly, you cannot turn
on the projector.
Note
After use, throw away the lamp in the carrying case
supplied with the lamp.
To reset the lamp timer in the message
display window

Turn the main power on with the POWER switch.
The projector enters the standby mode.

Press the keys in the following order, each within 5
seconds of the pressed key:

The lamp timer is reset.
