5-4. Resource Setup Using the Initial Setup Tool

8.

Shut down the FARAD system.

9.

Start up the FARAD system.

When the SYSTEM indicator of the FDDR-7000 lights, setup of the resource using the initial setup

tool is complete.

The resource setting made here remains saved in the system even after turning off the main power.

n

If the SYSTEM indicator of the FDDR-7000 flashes, it means that the resource has not been set up

correctly.

Perform from step 4 and set the resource again.  (The location of the error is displayed by the 7-

segment LED (ND300 and ND301) on the CPU-253 board.  Refer to Maintenance Manual Part-1

section “3. Diagnostics Function.”)

5-4-2. When Two or More FDDR-7000s Are Connected to the Host Computer

1.

Start up the system.

n

Since the resource has not been set yet, a system malfunction is detected and the SYSTEM indicator

of the FDDR-7000 flashes.  However, the resource can be set using the initial setup tool.

2.

Start up Windows NT.

3.

Insert the CD-R supplied with the operating software BZFD-7020 into the CD-ROM drive of the

personal computer.

4.

Start up the command prompt in Windows NT.

5.

Change the current directory from the Windows NT root directory to the CD-R’s Tool directory.

6.

Enter  faradres -d farad.  (Carriage return)

The resource setup screen of FDDR-7000 specified by -d appears.

The same screen as shown in step 6 of section “5-4-1. When One FDDR-7000 is Connected to the

Host Computer” appears.  Perform the procedure described in section 5-4-1 step 7 and later to set the

resource of the system.

n

Letter “d” of faradres -d farad becomes the Device shown in step 8 of the procedure for installing the

operating software.

(Example: faradres -d ha0d6l0)
