5.5 Connecting the Multiviewer to a Nucleus or Nebula Controller
The MV-32/MV-64 accepts fixed or dynamic UMD (Under Monitor Display) names.
The multiviewer can display dynamic UMD tallies of the source names when it is connected to
a Nucleus or Nebula controller. The controller provides the UMD source names to the
multiviewer when they are connected together. As the sources change the UMDs will
dynamically change to match the correct source name without any intervention from the user.
This section describes how to connect the MV-32/MV-64 to a Nucleus or Nebula controller.
RS 422 Connection
•
See section 5.5.1.1 for MV-32/MV-64 serial link configuration.
•
See section 5.5.1.2 for cable wiring connections to the Nucleus/Nebula controller.
•
See section 5.5.1.3 for Nucleus controller serial link configuration.
•
See section 5.5.1.4 for Nebula controller serial link configuration.
•
See section 5.5.3 for MV-32/MV-64 input configuration.
TCP/IP Connection
(section 5.5.2)
•
See section 5.5.2.1 for Nucleus2 2463 controller TCP/IP link configuration.
•
See section 5.5.2.2 for MV-32/MV-64 TCP/IP link configuration.
•
See section 5.5.3 for MV-32/MV-64 input configuration.
Note:
•
The source names are limited to 8 characters.
•
TCP/IP connection to the multiviewer is not supported by Nebula controllers.
