7.1 Updating the scalers
Some firmware updates may include additional revisions for the video board scalers (VIP1
and VIP2 cards only). The requirement for updating the scalers can be determined by going
to the Help >
About
menu. If any scalers need updating, then there will be a tag “(needs
updating)” next to the scalers listed.
Where scaler updates are required, complete the firmware upgrade as described in section 7.
Once the upgrade is complete continue as follows.
1.
Open a DOS command window.
At the command prompt type; 'telnet 192.168.0.120', or whatever the current IP
address is set to.
MV-64 and MV-32 CPU 1 default IP address: 192.168.0.120
MV-32 CPU 2 default IP address: 192.168.0.121
2.
Log in with the user name 'root', using the password 'smv'.
3.
Type; './update-scalers'
4.
The status of the update will be indicated on the video output. Ensure that when the
process is complete, all scalers have been updated (there are four scalers per video
board). This can be done by going to the Help >
About
menu and confirming that
there is no comment: “Needs Updating” next to any scaler.
Note:
MV-VIP3 & MV-VIP3D cards only
:
•
VIP3 and VIP3D cards are automatically updated by the multiviewer firmware if
updates are required.
•
If the multiviewer firmware update includes an update for the video input cards they
will be automatically updated. The display will indicate the input card update
progress as a percentage along with a slot number. The slot number can be
ignored as all of the cards are updated at the same time.
•
If one or more cards fail to update correctly the first time the multiviewer will
automatically repeat the update process for the card(s) that failed to update
correctly.
Note:
This process takes approximately 25 minutes for each installed video board
