Three common options to start diesel generators are described in chapter 16.

In most switch-over situations the period of time for „short interruptions“ can be sub-

stantially reduced by means of a slightly more complicated cabling (Fig. 3.11). Natu-

rally, this time cannot be reduced in case of a shutdown of the generator – unpre-

dictable for the Sunny Island - (manual deactivation, failure due to fuel deficiency, or

the similar).
