By pressing and turning selector ‘E4’ in sequence it is
possible to change the correction of the arc length and
the electronic inductance value for welding arc
stabilisation. To change these values:
•
Press ‘E4’ in sequence for lighting the LED related to
the parameter to be modified, and rotate ‘E4’ for
changing its value.
The voltage parameter, ‘V’, can be set only in
non-synergic MIG/MAG (see the SET -> Synergy
function).
Selector switch ‘E5’ allows setting the welding current,
the wire speed and the piece thickness. For modifying
these values:
•
Press ‘E5’ in sequence for lighting the LED related to
the parameter to be modified, and rotate ‘E7’ for
changing its value.
By keeping selector switch ‘E4’ pressed for more than
two seconds, you will go into the SET mode, where you
can set the following advanced parameters:
•
Softstart:
when the torch trigger is
pressed the wire is fed slowly, reaching
the set speed only when the welding
arc strikes. It is automatically adjusted
(‘Syn’ on the display) or adjustable from
1 to 100% of the speed set for the wire.
•
Burnback:
it adjusts power delay with
the aim of optimising the end of the
welding process (that is, the length of
the wire with respect to the end of the
torch). It is automatically adjusted
(‘Syn’ on the display) or adjustable from
1 to 100%.
•
Pre-gas:
pre-gas time (seconds)
•
Post-gas:
post-gas time (seconds
•
Synergy:
to turn the synergy mode ON or OFF. In
the manual mode it lets the user set all the
parameters exactly as they would be for traditional
MIG/MAG generators (adjustment of wire tension,
inductance and speed). This selection is not
available in MIG P or MIG DP because the
parameters need to be synergically controlled for a
correct pulsed arc welding.
Parameters that can only be set in MIG DP welding
(double-pulsed MIG):
•
Freq DP:
double-pulse frequency from a minimum of
0.1 Hz to a maximum of 5 Hz; this setting changes
the high/low pulses per cycle in Hz. The higher the
frequency the finer the ripple shape, the more
penetration is gained along with a higher speed of
pulses and travel speed
•
Duty DP:
this setting changes the % of the time the
high pulse is used, so resulting in a hotter weld with a
broader weld width
•
Offset DP:
sets the difference between the peak
current on the high and low pulse. The higher the
number increases the spacing between each ripple
shape. This setting is used in conjunction with the
Freq DP to obtain TIG like weld deposits
To change these parameters proceed as follows (the
figures shown above are an example of the screen
pages for setting the parameters):
•
Turn selector ‘E4’ to select the parameter to change.
•
Turn selector ‘E5’ to change its value (a scroll bar at
the bottom of the display gives you the setting
range).
•
Turn selector ‘E4’ to select another parameter.
•
When you have finished changing, press ‘E4’ to exit
the ‘SET’ mode.
The work return lead is to be connected to socket ‘A3’;
the torch to socket ‘A5’ and its cooling hoses to
connections ‘H2’.
