Suspension Troubleshooting Chart
PROBLEM
CORRECTIVE MEASURES
Front suspension wandering
Check ski alignment and camber angle adjustment.
See an authorized SKI-DOO dealer.
Reduce ski ground pressure.
– Reduce front suspension spring preload.
– Increase center spring preload.
– Reduce rear spring preload.
Snowmobile seems unstable and
seems to pivot around its center
Reduce rear suspension front arm pressure.
– Reduce center spring preload.
– Increase rear spring preload.
– Increase front suspension
spring preload.
Steering feels too heavy
Reduce ski ground pressure.
– Reduce front suspension spring preload.
– Increase center spring preload.
Rear of snowmobile seems too
stiff
Reduce rear spring preload.
Rear of snowmobile seems too
soft
Increase rear spring preload.
Rear suspension front shock
absorber is frequently bottoming
Lengthen stopper strap.
Increase center spring preload.
Track spins too much at start
Lengthen stopper strap.
Move thicker part of coupling block downward.
Deep Snow Riding
When operating the snowmobile in deep snow, it may be necessary to vary stop-
per strap length and/or riding position, to change the angle at which the track rides
on the snow. Operator's familiarity with the various adjustments as well as snow
conditions will dictate the most efficient combination.
