Figure 15 – Enabling password protection
To enable password protection:
1)
Navigate to
CONF (Modem Configuration) > Password
and check the “Enable” box.
2)
Select the interfaces to prompt for a password on.
The WAN interface (remote
connections) is the most commonly password-protected interface, however some users may
wish to password-protect both the WAN & LAN interfaces. Note that the modem cannot
prevent configuration changes made from its serial port.
3)
Finally,
set the modem password
. The password must be a case-sensitive string that is 6-
30 characters long.
4)
Click
Submit
to save the changes.
