1.10 Solar control units
The main functions of solar control units is to adjust the cir-
culation of the primary circuit through the signal given to the
pump, on the basis of the measured Δt between the solar col-
lectors and the bottom part of the solar storage tank.
Depending on the type of system, the control units also control
the integration of the secondary circuit.
The TermoSolis control unit is included in solar units of BS 2S
-C DHW calorifiers, supplied with the
Easy System
forced circu-
lation system.
1.10.1 TermoSolis solar control unit
TermoSolis is a programmable digital electronic device for
managing solar thermal systems.
The solution manages the solar system entirely, by controlling
the pump, the diverter valve (if present), the sensors (PT1000
and NTC), a puffer/calorifier and, if necessary, another auxiliary
heat source.
The integrated user interface consists of a backlit display and
four buttons. The display shows the selected system scheme
and the active sensors, along with the values and any anoma-
lies (if present) of the latter, while the buttons can be used to
switch the device on or off and programme the control unit’s
functions.
To prolong the system's duration once it has been switched off,
certain functions nonetheless remain active, including the an-
ti-frost protection and the anti-lockout device for the pump and
diverter valve.
There are three possible configurations for the equipment:
– Stand Alone, in which only TermoSolis is present.
– Communicating only with an Open Therm Sime Home or
Sime Home Plus remote control, whereby the system is man-
aged with a remote control.
– Full System, the full system solution, in which other Sime
devices are connected for full control of the space heating
and hot water systems.
