combustible material, flammable liquids, flammable gasses, or dust of an
explosive nature. When using power tools avoid contact with any earthed
items such as pipes, radiators, cookers, refrigerators, metal baths
and taps.
Protect yourself from vibration
• Hand held power tools may produce vibration. Vibration can cause
disease. Gloves to keep the operator warm may help to maintain good
blood circulation in the fingers. Hand held tools should not be used for
long periods without a break.
Maintain your power tool
• Ensure all ventilation holes are kept clear at all times. Overheating and
fire may otherwise result.
Always disconnect
• Before changing fittings or accessories, always ensure that your tool is
disconnected from the power source.
Switch off before connecting
• Ensure that the power tool is switched off before connecting to the power
source. If the power tool stops unexpectedly, turn the power switch to off.
Do not abuse the power cord
• Be sure your cable or extension cable is in good condition. Always have
a damaged cable or extension cable replaced at an authorised service
centre before using it. Never yank or pull the cable to disconnect it from
the power socket. Never carry your tool by its cable. Keep the cable away
from damp, heat, oil, solvents, and sharp edges.
Don’t leave the tool running unattended
• Always wait until your tool has completely stopped functioning, and has
been unplugged, before leaving it.
Before Use
• Carefully unpack and inspect your power drill. Fully familiarise yourself
with all features and functions of the tool.
• Ensure that all parts of your power drill are present and in good condition.
If any part is missing, or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool.

Product Familiarisation
• Do not run the drill to tighten or release the chuck. Doing this will cause
permanent damage to your tool.
On/off switch
• To start the drill, squeeze the on/off switch (5).
• To stop the drill, release the on/off switch.
Lock on button
• The drill is equipped with a lock on button (4). This allows the on/off
switch to be locked into the “on” position for tasks that require extended
continuous running.
• To use the lock on function, depress the lock on button whilst squeezing
the on/off switch, the on/off switch can then be released and the drill
will continue to run.
• To stop the drill, squeeze, then release the on/off switch.
Speed control
• The speed of the drill can be varied between 0 and 1000RPM (low gear),
or 0 and 3000RPM (high gear).
• The speed is adjusted by rotating the speed control dial (6).
Reversing
• The direction of the drill can be changed using the reverse switch (7).
• To run the drill in a clockwise direction, push the reverse switch to
the right.
• To run the drill in an anti-clockwise direction, push the reverse switch
to the left.
• Do not attempt to move the reverse switch whilst the drill is running.
• Do not attempt to run the drill with the reverse switch in a mid position.
Hammer selection
• The drill can be used in either hammer drill mode (for masonry work),
or conventional rotary drill mode (for wood, metal etc).
• To select hammer drilling mode, slide the hammer selection switch (2)
to the left.
• To select rotary drilling mode, slide the hammer selection switch to
the right.
• Do not attempt to move the hammer selection switch whilst the drill
is running.
Gear selection
• The drill is equipped with a 2 ratio gear box. This allows you to select
the correct ratio to match the task to be performed. Low gear
(0-1000RPM) is suitable for low speed tasks that require high torque.
High gear (0-3000RPM) is suitable for high speed tasks that require
low torque. If the task to be performed does not require speeds above
1000RPM, use the low gear, as this will reduce the load on the motor.
• To select gears, rotate the gear selection switch (8). Align the mark on the
drill casing with the relevant marking on the switch (I for low gear, II for
high gear).
• Do not attempt to change the gear selection when the drill is running.
• Do not attempt to run the drill with the selection switch in a mid position.
Drilling concrete
• Using hammer drill mode, apply pressure to the rear of the drill, in
line with the drill bit.
• For efficient drilling, it is advisable to use TCT (tungsten carbide) drill bits.
Ensure that drill bit size is within the maximum capacity of the drill (see
specifications).
• Do not apply too much pressure if debris blocks the drill hole. Run the
drill slowly, and remove the bit from the hole. Repeat until hole is cleared.
Drilling wood
• Use rotary drill mode only.
• Ensure that drill bits are suitable for wood, and are within the maximum
capacity of this drill (see specifications).
Drilling metal
• To ensure accuracy, mark the intended hole position using a hammer
and centre punch.
Operating Instructions
Side handle
• The side handle (9) should always be used when drilling.
• Always hold the drill firmly using both hands.
• The side handle can be adjusted to best suit the work to be performed.
• To adjust the side handle, rotate the handle grip anti-clockwise, this
will loosen the handle assembly. Move the side handle to the required
position, and secure by rotating the handle grip clockwise.
Operating the chuck
• The chuck (1) can be opened by holding the rear chuck ring, and rotating
the front chuck ring anti-clockwise.
• To tighten the chuck, hold the rear chuck ring, and rotate the front chuck
ring clockwise.
