Unpacking Your Tool

•   Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all

its features and functions

•      Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If

any parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before
attempting to use this tool

Operating Instructions

Warning

Never fit any attachment with a maximum speed lower than the no load
speed of the machine.

Fitting a Drill Bit
1.

Open the Chuck (1) jaws by rotating the front chuck ring clockwise

2. Place the drill bit into the chuck
3. Tighten the chuck jaws by rotating the front chuck ring anti-clockwise
4. Do not run the drill whilst tightening or releasing the chuck
5. When the drill bit is held tightly, test that it is central by running the drill.
The drill bit should rotate smoothly with no 'wobble'. If the drill bit is not
central, release the chuck, correct and retighten

Direction Control

•  The direction of rotation can be set using the Forward/Reverse Selector

(5)

•  To make the drill rotate anticlockwise, push the forward/reverse selector

to the right

•  To make the drill rotate clockwise, push the forward/reverse selector

to the left

•  When the forward/reverse selector is in the central position, the drill is

locked

•  Do not attempt to move the forward/reverse selector when the drill is

running

Switching On

•  To start the drill, squeeze the Trigger Switch (7)
•  The speed of the drill is controlled by the movement of the trigger, the

further the trigger is depressed, the faster the drill will run

Gear Selection

•  This drill is equipped with a 2 speed gearbox. The lower gear provides

speeds between 0-350rpm with a high torque. The higher gear provides
speeds between 0-1150rpm with reduced torque

•  For jobs that do not require speeds above 350rpm, use low gear. This will

reduce the load on the motor

•  To select a gear, slide the Gear Selector (3) to the appropriate position
•  Do not attempt to move the gear selector when the drill is running

Torque Control

•  This drill is fitted with a Torque Control Clutch (2). This limits the torque

output of the drill, enabling screws to be driven without the risk of
damage

•  The clutch settings are indicated by the symbols on the clutch ring
•  Rotate the clutch ring to select the correct torque
•  For drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the drill symbol. This will lock the

clutch for maximum torque

•  For hammer drilling, rotate the clutch ring to the hammer symbol. This

will engage the hammer function

Checking Battery Level

•  This drill is fitted with a Battery Level Indicator (4)
•  To check the charge remaining in the battery, press the button below

the indicator

•  The battery charge level will be displayed on the LCD screen

Charging The Battery

Follow this procedure:
•  The battery should be fully discharged before charging
•  The battery should be charged at 20˚C (room temperature)
1. Plug the charger into the power supply
2. Ensure that the power supply is switched on
3. Insert the battery pack into the charger
4. The red indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the battery is being
    charged
5. If the red light does not illuminate, press the set button to begin charging
6. After approx 1 hour, the red light will go out, and the green light will
illuminate. This means the battery is fully charged, and can now be
    removed from the charger
7. Allow 15mins for the battery to cool before use
•  Ensure that the charger is disconnected from the mains supply, and is

stored correctly

IMPORTANT

: Failure to follow the correct procedure when charging the

batteries will result in permanent damage.

Maintenance

WARNING:

Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before

carrying out any maintenance/cleaning.

Cleaning

•  Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal

parts to wear quickly, and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the
body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth. If available, use
clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes

Brushes

•  Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
•  Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure,

or visible sparking

•  If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an

authorised service centre

Disposal

•  Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic

equipment, with household waste

•  Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct

way to dispose of tools
