ENABLE EMERGENCY RETRACTION

0/1 transition:
Each 0/1 transition switches over the state of emergency retraction monitoring.
If the EMERGENCY RETRACTION ENABLED signal is a 0 signal, emergency
retraction monitoring is switched on. If it is set, monitoring is switched off.
1/0 transition:
The PLC user program must reset the ENABLE EMERGENCY RETRACTION
signal if the status of EMERGENCY RETRACTION ENABLED has changed.
Notes:
•
Emergency retraction monitoring checks whether the actual position of the following axis is
within a tolerance band about the setpoint. The tolerance band is determined by an emer-
gency retraction threshold (MD). In the event of excessive deviation of the actual position
from the setpoint, synchronization of the leading and following axes is impaired. If
emergency retraction monitoring is switched on, it indicates the malfunction by issuing an
alarm, an interface signal (EMERGENCY RETRACTION ACTIVE) and, if applicable, a
hardware signal (this requires a mixed I/O module for the servo CPU). The PLC user pro-
gram can then implement appropriate counter-measures designed to protect the machine
and workpiece (emergency retraction).

Emergency retraction monitoring can also be switched with the ENABLE EMERGENCY
RETRACTION setting data bit. The NC program transfers every change in the function
state of emergency retraction monitoring to the setting data bit.
