Long-term storage
If you intend to place the motor in storage for longer than six months, you must ensure that
the storage area satisfies the following contiditions.
Table 4- 1 Environmental conditions for long-term storage in the product packaging according to
Class 1K3 to EN 60721-3-1 - with the exception of influencing environmental variables
"Air temperature", "Highest relative humidity" and "Condensation"
Climatic ambient conditions -15 °C to +55 °C
Highest relative humidity < 60%, condensation not permissible
Mechanical ambient conditions vibration-free storage room V

Protection against chemical sub-
stances
Protected in accordance with Class 1C2
Biological ambient conditions Suitable in accordance with Class 1B2
Duration
• Six months for the conditions listed above.
• Special preservation measures are required for storage
period of six months up to two years.
Check the correct state of the motor every six months.
•
Check the motor for any damage.
• Carry out any necessary maintenance work.
• Document all preservation measures taken so that they can be reversed before the
machines are recommissioned.
• Control the climate in the storage area if the conditions for storage cannot be complied
with.
• Rotate the shaft extension by hand.
Condensation
The following ambient conditions encourage the formation of condensation:
•
Large fluctuations of the ambient temperature
• Direct sunshine
• High air humidity during storage
Avoid these ambient conditions.
Use a dehydrating agent in the packaging.
