Privacy Protocol

Specify whether or not the user uses the DES algorithm. Can only be enabled, if the

group supports this function.

●

Authentication Password

Enter the authentication password in the first input box. This password must have at least

6 characters, the maximum length is 32 characters.

●

Authentication Password Confirmation

Confirm the password by repeating the entry.

●

Privacy Password

Enter your encryption password. This password must have at least 6 characters, the

maximum length is 32 characters.

●

Privacy Password Confirmation

Confirm the encryption password by repeating the entry.

●

Persistence

Shows whether or not the user is assigned to an SNMPv3 group. If the user is not

assigned to an SNMPv3 group, no automatic saving is triggered and the configured user

disappears again after restarting the device.

Procedure

Create a new user
1.

Enter the name of the new user in the "User Name" input box.

Click the "Create" button. A new entry is generated in the table.

In "Groups", select the group to which the new user will belong.
If the group has not yet been created, change to the "v3 Groups" page and make the

settings for this group.

If an authentication is necessary for the selected group, select the authentication

algorithm in "Authentification Protocol".

In the relevant input boxes, enter the authentication password and its confirmation.

If encryption was specified for the group, select the algorithm from the "Privacy Protocol"

drop-down list. In the relevant input boxes, enter the encryption password and the

confirmation.

Click the "Set Values" button.
