Hard Disk Manager
The hard disk manager offers you the possibility to delete all recordings from the hard
disk and to switch the hard disk to standby mode after a specific period of time. You also
receive information on the hard disk.
Deleting all recordings
You can delete individual recordings in the
Films
menu or the
Music
menu. You can use
the
Delete All Recordings
option to delete all recordings that are not write protected.
To also delete protected recordings, you have to first deactivate the write protection for
these recordings (see "Changing protection" on page 51).
Caution:
You cannot restore deleted recordings again.
If your set-top box is equipped with a USB port, you can however archive your record-
ings on a PC using the PC software
Gigaset M45x PC Manager

Formatting the hard disk
Should delays occur in playing back recordings because recordings are being created
and deleted frequently, you can resolve this by formatting the internal hard disk.
Use the
Format hard disk
option to delete the entire content of the hard disk regardless
of the write protection settings of the individual recordings.
Caution:
Formatting will delete both your recordings and the demo films (
Guides &
Demos
menu). The process cannot be reversed.
