Starting Up the Set-Top Box
Running the Installation Wizard
The installation wizard starts up first of all on initial startup and following the restora-
tion of factory default settings. The wizard guides you automatically through the most
important menus for performing basic settings on your set-top box.
You use the navigation keys to select and confirm your preferred settings in order to call
up the menus described below in succession (see quick reference card). You can change
the settings you make here in the
Settings
menu following completion of the installa-
tion wizard.
Choosing the Menu Language
You can use the
Menu Language
option to define the language in which the menu
texts are to be displayed.
Selecting a Country
Use the
Country (of residence)
option to indicate the location at which you will install
your set-top box.
Activating the Antenna Power
Use the
Antenna power
option to switch on or off the supply voltage for a connected
active internal antenna. Note the instructions of the antenna manufacturer to do this:
The internal antenna must be suitable for a direct current of
5 V
; the maximum current
consumption must not exceed
30 mA
.
Caution
: The antenna power must not be enabled for internal antennae with their own
supply terminals. Otherwise, there is a risk of a short-circuit or destruction of the
antenna.
Disconnect the set-top box from the mains immediately (device switch), if the message
Antenna input short-circuit or overload
appears after switching on the antenna
power. Check your antenna and resolve the possible causes (current consumption too
high or short-circuit).
