Watching Television

Setting the Volume

You can only set the volume on your set-top box if you use analogue audio signals (con-
nection via SCART port or

AUDIO L

 /

AUDIO R

).

The volume of the digital sound (

DIGITAL OUT

port) can only be regulated on the con-

nected terminal (e. g. surround decoder).

Adjusting the Volume

(Available if no menu is open.)
You can adjust the volume either from the remote control for your television or using
the remote control for your set-top box. The volume bars, which indicate the current
setting, are visible on the screen while you are adjusting the volume.

The volume set on your television is the maximum volume that you can set using the
remote control for the set-top box.
If the maximum volume you can set with your set-top box is too low, you can increase
the base volume on your television set. Use the remote control for the television to do
this.

Switching off the Sound

Selecting Picture and Sound

Some channels broadcast their programme or individual programme selections with
additional options for picture and sound. Whether or not such options are available for
a current programme or for playing a recording, is indicated in the info bar with a cor-
responding icon (see "Displaying Information" on page 36). You can use the colour but-
tons to select the options desired for the current programme.
The availability of options for picture and sound depends on the broadcast area, the
offering of the respective channel and the programme itself.

x

Set the volume higher or lower.

Alternative operation on the set-top box:

s

Use the

Vol buttons

 to adjust the volume.

m

Switch the sound off or on without changing the current volume setting.
