7.1.2
Filling with lubricant
•
Unscrew screw plugs of oilfilling hole on the gear unit.
Using a filter (max. mesh 25 μm), fill the gear unit with fresh oil up to the MAX mark on
the oil dipstick or the middle of the oillevel indicator.
•
In case of gear units
with addon backstop
, release the screw plug on the backstop cover and pour
in approx. 0.5 l fresh oil of the total oil quantity via a filter (max. filter mesh 25 μm).
The quality of the oil used must meet the requirements of the separately supplied BA 7300
instructions manual, otherwise the guarantee given by Siemens will lapse. We urgently
recommend using one of the oils listed in table "T 7300" (for a link, see the BA 7300 instructions
manual supplied separately), because they have been tested and meet the requirements.
Information on the type, quantity and viscosity of the oil is given on the rating plate on the gear
unit.
The oil quantity shown on the rating plate is to be understood as an approximate quantity. The
marks on the oil dipstick or oillevel indicator are decisive for the amount of oil to be filled in.
In case of gear units fitted with force-feed lubrication or an oilcooling system, the oil circuit must
also be charged with oil. To do this, briefly start up the gear unit with the addon pump
(observing the description in section 8).
•
Check the oil level in the gearunit housing.
The oil level must be between the marks on the oillevel indicator.
Any oil spillage must be removed immediately with an oilbinding agent.
•
Close oilfilling hole with screw plugs.
7.2
Startup
Before startup, replace the yellow plastic screw plug with the air filter (see also notice
on gear unit).
After the first startup of the external oilsupply system the oil level should be checked (gear
units with oilsupply system only).
7.2.1
Oil level
The oil level must be monitored by means of the existing oillevel monitoring equipment. To do so, the gear
unit must be shut down.
When the oil is cool, the level should be at the upper mark on the oillevel indicator. When the oil is warm
it may slightly exceed this mark.
It must in no case be allowed to fall below the mark. If necessary, top up to the correct
level.
7.2.2
Gear unit with cooling coil or water oilcooler
The permissible pressure and temperature values specified in the data sheet and/or list of
equipment must not be exceeded.
This is to be checked before the startup.
•
Fully open the stop valves in the coolant in and outflow pipes of the cooling system.
•
Check that connecting lines are correctly fastened and tight.
For connection dimensions, refer to the dimensioned drawing of the gear unit. The required
coolingwater quantity and the maximum permissible inlet temperature are given on the data
sheet and/or the list of equipment.
