Teach-in for C 4000
Teach-in enables the user to easily define the size of hidden areas. This occurs by guiding
objects of corresponding size to the desired position in the protective field and teaching in
the object number and size. This is helpful, for example, for a tool change (for additional
information, see also the operating instructions "C 4000 Standard/Advanced").
To be able to use the teach-in function, the application must meet the following
requirements:
$
A reset button is connected to the C 4000 Advanced and configured properly.
$
The number and type of hidden areas and their tolerances are already configured for the
C 4000 using the CDS.
The teach-in can be initiated at the UE 440/470 (Teach-in key-operated switch is
connected to the UE 440/470) or the C 4000 (Teach-in key-operated switch is connected
to the C 4000).
$
If the teach-in is initiated at the UE 440/470, its OSSDs switch off during the teach-in.
$
If the teach-in is initiated at the C 4000, the OSSD of the C 4000 switches off during the
teach-in. The behaviour of the OSSDs of the UE 440/470 depends on how the OSSD of
the C 4000 or the status information of its OSSD are integrated in the application via
EFI.
$
Bypass is not possible during teach-in.
$
If the operating mode at the UE 440/470 is changed during the teach-in, the teach-in
procedure is completed first. Only after retrieval of the teach-in signal with the teach-in
key-operated switch is the set operating mode switched.
$
If teach-in occurs again directly at the C 4000 connected to the EFI, the C 4000
configuration is then different from the C 4000 configuration saved in the UE 440/470.
If automatic reconfiguration is configured, the newly taught-in C 4000 configuration is
overwritten by the configuration saved in the UE 440/470 when the application is
switched on again
(see Chapter 8.1.1 "
System self-check after switching on
After the teach-in, you must re-receive the configuration from the devices via the CDS for
this reason.

You then save and transfer the configuration to all devices once again.
