Comissioning and initial start-up
Comissioning procedure of FLOWSIC60 consists of only a few steps in order to enter instal-
lation parameters into the device and verify proper readings:
Complete all mechanical and electrical installation work before start-up.
Make sure path angle and path length have been determined exactly (refer to
Enter correct values for path length and path angle into FLOWSIC60 by using the
magnetic sensors at the device front-panel (for instructions on using the magnetic
sensors and the menu structure refer to
Optionally: Adjust settings of Analog output
After entering all installation parameters into the device correctly, leave the device menu
and check the LC-Display for correct readings of air flow velocity.
4.4
Calibration / Zero-point adjustment
A zero point adjustment is usually not required.
Velocity measurement calibration might only be required if the velocity profile on the
measuring path of FLOWSIC60 is not representative for the overall cross-section of the
tunnel. In this case a reliable reference measurement with a reference measuring
system is required for adjustment of FLOWSIC60 readings.
If required, correction of FLOWSIC60 readings can be done by a linear function charac-
terized by a linear factor (Adjust factor) and a zero point offset (Adjust offset).
The correction data have to be entered according to the procedure described in
4.5
Operating Modes, Meter States and Signal Output
The FLOWSIC60 has two operating modes:
Operation Mode
Configuration Mode
In the Operation Mode the meter can have the following Meter states:
Operation – measurement valid
Warning – maintenance request
Error – measurement invalid
4.5.1
Operation Mode and Configuration Mode
The meter can be operated in two modes: Operation or Configuration.
Operation Mode
In the Operation Mode, the meter runs in one of the aforementioned three Meter states
Configuration Mode
The Configuration Mode is used to modify parameters and settings. The Configuration
Mode can be set via the magnetic sensors at the front panel (refer to
) and forces
the meter into the status “Error”. The analog output represents the configured error current
in Configuration Mode because invalid measured values may be produced. Any parameter
modifications are applied immediately to the system.
If the meter is in Configuration Mode and there have been no activities on the LC-Display
for more than 15 minutes, FLOWSIC60 automatically switches to Operation Mode.
