5-1. Idle Control Switch
This generator is equipped with an energy-saving
("ECO") function that controls the engine speed in
accordance with the capacity of the device using the
generator in order to reduce noise and fuel
consumption. Move the Idle Control switch to "ECO"
to adjust the engine speed to match the capacity of
the device using the generator, and so that the
generator automatically operates at low speed when
the connected device is not in use. Move the switch
to "HIGH" to operate the generator at high speed
regardless of the capacity of the device using the
generator.
<Note>
Set to "HIGH" if the device has a large capacity.
5-2. Output Switch
This generator is equipped with an Output switch used to output 100-V power from the
output outlets. Turn the switch to "ON" to output 100-V power from the output outlets and
turn it "OFF" to stop output.
<Note>
Check that the Output switch is "OFF" before starting the engine. After starting the engine,
check the output frequency when you see that the 50/60 Hz output
monitor lamp
is flashing
before turning the switch to "ON" to output 100-V power.
(Refer to "5-5. Monitor Lamps " and "5-3. Frequency Selector".)
The Output switch does not have a breaker function that stops output caused by
overcurrent. For overcurrent and overheating protection functions, refer to "5-4.
Overcurrent/Overheat Protector".
5-3. Frequency Selector
This switch allows to select a frequency of either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Set the frequency to 50
Hz or 60 Hz to match the frequency of the device using the generator.
<Note>
This is set to 50 Hz when shipped from the factory.
Change the setting if using in a 60 Hz region.
Stop the engine before changing the frequency.
After switching, start the engine, and check the
output frequency when you see that the 50/60 Hz
output
monitor lamp
is flashing.
(Refer to "5-5. Monitor Lamps ".)
5-4. Overcurrent/Overheat Protector
This device stops AC output to protect the generator if excess current is output or the
inverter temperature becomes excessively high. If the protector operates, turn off the load
before stopping the engine, turn the Output switch to "OFF", and perform cooling operation
for five minutes. To start generating output again, it is necessary to stop the engine
momentarily and restart it.
<Note>
Restarting the engine when the inverter has not completely cooled can result in the
overload
monitor lamp
lighting up and the frequency
monitor lamp
not lighting up. If this
occurs, stop the engine again and wait for a few minutes before restarting the engine.
