Trouble with DirectHD
Why can’t my AL series be recognized as an external hard disk?
•
Confirm your AL series and your host computer are properly connected with the
DirectHD cable.
•
Confirm your AL series is turned off.
•
Confirm your host computer is running Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Windows
XP.
•
Start Windows on the AL series, exit it to turn off the AL series and then, connect
it to the host computer if you remove both of the AC adapter and battery pack.
•
When your AL series is not connected the AC adapter and does not have enough
battery power, it cannot be recognized as an external hard disk. Connect the AC
adapter and reconnect the DirectHD cable.
•
Reconnect DirectHD cable. You may not have stopped the connection properly.
•
When using a USB hub, connect an AC adapter to the hub.
Why is my AL series recognized as a removable disk or why can’t I access
it through my host computer?
•
When you have set a password in the Setup Utility, you cannot access it. Cancel the
password temporarily using the
Password Utility
. (See Chapter 6.) When you
remove the password in the Setup Utility instead of canceling by the
Password
Utility
and delete the password in the Setup Utility, the AL series may be
recognized as a removable disk at the next connection. In this case, follow these
instructions.
1.
Connect your AL series and your host computer with the DirectHD cable.
2.
Click
