4. PRINTING
About the Printer
Your Sharp Laser Multifunction unit gives you the printing performance you would
expect from a professional-grade laser printer. Printing can be done on letter, legal,
and A4 paper.
About the Printer Driver
The printer driver is the software program which runs the printer component of the
Sharp Laser Multifunction unit. It converts the data in the file you want to print into
information that the printer can understand, and also controls communication between
the unit and computer as the data is printed.
A number of printer driver settings are available to control how the printer prints. To
access these settings, click the Start button in your Windows desktop, point to Set-
tings, and then select Printers. In the Printers window, right-click the Sharp Laser
Multifunction icon and select Properties from the pop-up menu that appears. The set-
tings can be found in the Driver Setup tab of the Sharp Laser Multifunction Properties
window.
You can also access the Printer Driver settings from a software application. Click on
the Properties button in the Print dialog box that appears after you select the Print
command in the application. (The method for accessing the settings may differ in some
applications.)
Detailed explanations of each of the settings can be found in the Help file for the Printer
Driver. For information on a specific setting, click on the question mark box at the top
righthand corner of the properties window, and then click on the setting you wish to
know more about. A pop-up explanation will appear. To open the table of contents of the
Help file, select the Help tab and then click on the Help button.
