HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
Tailgate
The doors can be locked and unlocked
from the tailgate via the central locking
system. It is also possible to lock the lug-
gage compartment permanently
Locking p positions:
Position A A:
– Doors and tailgate are locked (vehicles
with alarm).
– Only tailgate locked (vehicles without
alarm)
Position B B:
– Doors and tailgate unlocked (vehicles
with alarm)
– Only tailgate unlocked (vehicles with-
out alarm)
Position C C:
– Doors and tailgate permanently locked
(vehicles with alarm)
– Only tailgate permanently locked (vehi-
cles without alarm)
If the key is removed in the horizontal
position from the slot, the tailgate will be
excluded from the central locking and
remains permanently locked

To include the tailgate in the central lock-
ing system
1)
turn the key to the vertical
position in the key slot.

Only for vehicles with an alarm* and central
locking.
Opening and cclosing tthe ttailgate
To o open the tailgate when key slot is ver-
tical, pull control behind finger strip on
tailgate and lift (see illustration).
To c
close ttailgate pull it down and slam it
gently.
A grip has been worked into the inside
trim of the tailgate which makes closing
easier.
