2.3 STANDARD TREATMENT CYCLE
1.
PRE-WASH
On initial start-up, the wash chamber fills with fresh
WARM
water. Pre-wash solution
tempers the instruments and glassware against possible thermal shock, and flushes loose
soil from the load. Upon completion of pre-wash, the process solution is power drained
to the sewer.
2.
DETERGENT WASH
Detergent wash receives fresh hot water to treat the soiled instruments and glassware
load. Upon filling with water for the Detergent Wash, the detergent will be injected into
the wash chamber by the pre-programmed pump. Upon completion of Detergent Wash,
the water is power drained to sewer.
3.
FIRST RINSE
Rinse 1 receives fresh hot water to remove the bulk of the detergent from the instrument,
glassware, piping, pump and wash chamber. Upon completion of Rinse 1, the water is
power drained to the sewer.
4.
SECOND RINSE
Rinse 2 receives fresh hot water to remove any residual traces of detergent from the
instrument load and washer. Upon completion of Rinse 2, the water is power drained to
sewer. A temperature guarantee is programmed into this rinse to ensure the 182
o
F (83
o
C)
disinfection temperature is achieved.
5
. OPTIONAL
FINAL DI WATER RINSE
DI Rinse receives fresh D.I. water from the institutions supply to remove any residual
traces from the instruments and glassware. Upon the completion of the DI Rinse the
water is power drained to the sewer to prevent cross contamination.
6.
MILK LUBE INJECTION
Milk
lube
injection
shall be pre-programmed into final rinse for instrumentation cycles if
required.
7.
OPTIONAL ENZYME INJECTION
Enzyme injection shall be pre-programmed into pre-wash (hot or cold water option) for
cycles as required.
