Configuration of the EtherCAT network
For the configuration and diagnosis of the EtherCAT network please use the
EtherCAT® Add-
on for Multiprog and the configuration tool “EC-Engineer”.
The EtherCAT® Add-
on is a component of the “Schleicher Add-ons for
Multiprog” (see Chapter 6.2.3).
The EtherCAT Add-on can be started within MULTIPROG as follows:
MULTIPROG Menü <Extras> Menüpunkt <Schleicher Add-
Ons …>

The XCA 1200 Controller can be configured for sercos
III or EtherCAT
networks. Choose the EtherCAT Configuration.
The EtherCAT® Add-On for MULTIPROG performs the following tasks:
Invocation of the configuration tool "EC-Engineer".
Transmission of the ENI (EtherCAT Network Information) file to the
controller. For this purpose a FTP connection to the controller is
necessary. The required settings are described in Chapter .
Insertion of I/O variables and I/O configuration items for the EtherCAT
network compoents in the PLC project.

The EtherCAT® Add-On offers various application scenarios.
In Figure 77 are shown the possible choices and thereafter briefly explained.
You can find a description of the configuration steps in Chapter 6.9.1. With
<Next> you reach the start of the configuration.
