Exposure Correction
Use the exposure correction function when shooting to make the entire image that you capture
darker (under exposed) or lighter (over exposed) as desired.
*
For AE shift sequential shots (see page 59), the exposure correction cannot be used.

Press the MODE button to display the Shooting Setting
Screen.

Select the exposure correction icon

on the arrow button to adjust the
exposure.

to move the pointer on the exposure
correction bar to the left or right and correct the exposure
accordingly.

Press
c
for a brighter image (over exposure) and press
d
for a darker image (under exposure).

The pointer can be moved by turning the jog dial.

When the pointer is in the center of the exposure
correction bar, exposure correction is not performed.
œ
While the exposure is corrected, the stand-by indicator in
the viewfinder will flash in green.
œ
Exposure correction is cancelled when the main switch is
set to
Ô
, the camera is turned off, or the pointer is
returned to the center position.

To exit the Shooting Setting Screen, press the MODE
button.

Press the shutter release button.

The image is captured with exposure correction.

Short cut for setting the exposure correction

If the Shooting Setting Screen or Information Screen is not displayed, you can press the arrow
button to quickly display the exposure correction icon. To set the exposure correction, select the
exposure correction icon to bring up the exposure correction bar and press
d

c
, or turn the
jog dial to set the exposure correction. If one of these setting is not possible, then that icon will
not appear.
