inside face of the housing and not cocked. For double seal arrangement, pack area between lip
seals with grease.
For frame F4J 1 attach the seal disk (6-380-9) to the Dynamic Seal
housing (6-391-0) using the
retaining ring (6-385-0) and four screws. Place the "0" ring (1-914-0) in the seal collar (6-437-0)
and assemble onto the outer sleeve (6-657-0).
NOTE: The seal collar must be adjusted when pump
is placed in service. It is properly adjusted when near zero leakage is achieved when the pump is
not running.
CAUTION:
Excessive heat will result if collar is adjusted too tightly against seal discs.
b. Slide the seal housing assembly over the shaft sleeve, being careful not to damage lip seal.
c. Place expeller "0" -ring (1-914-9) on shaft and slide expeller (6-651-0) over the shaft. Place
another "o"-ring (1-914-9) on shaft and slide hook sleeve (6-389-0) over the shaft. For two stage
units assemble the intermediate expeller (6-651-0), the intermediate plate (6-653-0), the gaskets (6-
658-9) and the expeller "0" ring (1-914-'9).
d. Install four studs into stuffing box. For F4G 1, place "0" ring (6-913-9) over stuffing box turn and
slide inner plate (6-652-0) over it. For F4Hl, place gasket (6-913-9) on the backside of the inner
plate and slide it over turn of the stuffing box.
e. Place stuffing box assembly into frame adaptor locating fit. Bolt stuffing box to the frame adaptor
by using (2);studs (1-908-0) and nuts (1-903-0).
f. Place seal housing onto intermediate or inner plate and tighten nuts (6-903-9) on the studs (6-908-
9) to finger tightness.
NOTE:
Do not attempt to turn the shaft or tighten nuts (6-903-9) on the studs until the impeller is
assembled.
