036- 3) to the frame adaptor (5-193-0). Remove stuffing box. Pull packing (6-924-0), seal cage
(6-013-0) and packing base ring (6-152-0) from the stuffing box. Remove the shaft sleeve (6-009-
0).
Mechanical Seal Stuffing Box:
(Standard Stuff Box or Oversize Seal Chamber. (Single inside mechanical seals are depicted in cross
sectional drawings.))
k. Loosen and remove the four nuts (6-903-0) holding the mechanical seal gland (6-014-0) to the
stuffing box. Pull back the gland. Remove nuts (1-903-0) from studs (1-908-0) securing the stuffing
box cover (6-036-3) to the frame adaptor (5-193-0). Pull stuffing box from the frame adaptor, being
careful not to damage the mechanical seal (6-4000) in any way. The seal rotating element and
sleeve may be removed from the shaft as an assembly. To remove mechanical seal from sleeve,
loosen screws in the locking collar with an Allen wrench. Remove the seal gland (6-014-0). Then
remove stationary seat from gland. Use care not to damage the seal faces.
Dynamic Seal
Arrangement:
l. Loosen and remove nuts (1-903-0) from studs (1908-0) that secure the stuffing box (6-036-3) to the
frame adaptor (5-193-0). Loosen and remove nuts (6-903-9) from studs (6-908-9) that secure the

parts to the stuffing box.
m. Remove the stuffing box with studs.
For frames F4G 1 and F4Hl remove the inner plate (6-652-0) from stuffing box. Remove inner
plate "O"-ring (6-913-9) for F4Gl frame or inner plate gasket (6-913-9) for F4Hl.
n. Remove sleeve (6-389-0) and sleeve "O"-ring (1-914-9).
o. Remove expeller (6-651-0), expeller "O" ring (1-914-9) and gasket (6-658-9).
p. For two stage Dynamic Seal
,
remove the intermediate plate (6-653-0), intermediate plate gasket (6-
658-9), second stage expeller (6-651-0) and expeller "o"-ring (1-914-9).
q. For frame F4G 1 and F4Hl remove Dynamic Seal
housing (6-391-0) with lip seal (6-3800) pressed
into housing bore and remove shaft sleeve (6-657-0).
r. For frame F4J 1 remove Dynamic Seal
housing with disk seal (6-380-9) and retaining ring (6-385-
0). Remove sleeve (6-657-0) with rotating collar (6-437-0). Loosen the set screw (6-904-0) and
slide rotating collar from the shaft sleeve. Remove "O"-ring (1-914-0). Loosen and remove four (4)
screws to remove retaining ring and disk seals.
Frame disassembly
a. Remove the bottom drain plug (5-910-4) to drain all oil from frame (5-083-0).
b. Remove the synthetic rubber deflectors (5-024-3 & 5-024-4) from ends of frame. Each may be
easily pulled from the shaft.
c. Loosen and remove the cap screws (5-904-4) that secure the bearing housing to the frame.
d. Turn adjusting nut (5-032-4) clockwise to pull complete shaft assembly out of frame. Adjusting nut
has 24 slots located on outside surface of the ring. Use strap wrench to help turn adjusting nut.
To pull shaft assembly further out of the frame, remove screws that secure coupling guard end cap
