5.5. Preparing the rake for work
NOTE:
For the period of machine storage at SaMASZ cylinders are covered with special grease in
order to protect them against weather conditions which may cause their premature wear.
Before operating remove the excess grease the cylinders.
Due to large dimensions of rakes, 4 arms are originally dismounted on each rotor for transport
purposes (to be put on vehicles). In order to enable their quicker dismounting they are mounted in
factory with bolts. For operation purposes put expansion pins which are provided with the machine
instead of factory bolts as given below:
untighten bolts from four outer arms on the rakes in each of transmission gears
(
Fig. 12
),
support rake arm in order to avoid damaging the transmission gear connecting rod
(
Fig. 13
),

hammer expansion pins into holes, where bolts were previously fitted. Put pin Ø10 and Ø6 into
a single hole

Prior the first machine start-up, replace temporary wheel bolts (
S
), located in the place of wheel
header and rear wheel axle coupling, for Ø16 and Ø10 roll pins (
K
). Roll pins are in a parts
package, which comes together with the machine. Roll pins need to be put in the way shown
in
Fig. 16
.
