TRACTOR FRONT DISC MOWER
ALPINA / SAMBA F
6.4.3.
Post-seasonal maintenance and storage
At the end of the operating season, clean and wash the mower thoroughly. Once it is dry,
preserve all working part surfaces and hitch pins with a layer of solid grease.
At the end of operation:
❑
Lower the mower deck to the ground.
❑
Uncouple the PIC neck from the tractor PTO or remove the whole PIC and store it in the holder on
the hitch attachment frame.
❑
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the SCV ports of the tractor. Disconnect the electrical harness
from the tractor. Stow the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness on the respective holders of the
hitch attachment frame.
❑
Unhitch the mower from the tractor and drive the tractor away from the mower.
Keep the unhitched and parked mower in its storage configuration, resting on the ground by its
parking foot and the mower deck. Store the machine on a hard surface. It is best to store the mower
sheltered and inaccessible to unauthorized personnel. The storage location should be dry. If the
machine is exposed to rain or snow, it must be periodically relubricated during storage.
Preparing the machine from operation after storage:
❑
Inspect the technical condition of the mower. Thoroughly check the mower driveline.
❑
Touch up all missing paint coating.
❑
Verify that all bolts and nuts are torqued to specification.
❑
Make sure that all guards and aprons are installed in place.
❑
Inspect the hydraulic lines for damage and wear.
❑
Preserve all moving parts with grease to prevent seizure and initiation of corrosion spots which
would negatively affect the performance.
❑
Check the oil levels in the gear boxes and the mower deck. If any leak is found, repair it and refill
with the specified oil. If water is found in the gearbox oil, change all oil. Water in oil is a risk of
corrosion to internal parts, including gears, bearings, and shafts. Exposure to corrosion is a risk of
failure.
