TRACTOR FRONT DISC MOWER
USER MANUAL
A hydraulic cylinder is
leaking.
The hydraulic fluid in the tractor hydraulic
system is contaminated.
Change the hydraulic fluid in the tractor
hydraulic system (the recommended
hydraulic fluid purity is NAS 1638 Class 9
to 10 or better). Purchase a hydraulic
cylinder seal repair kit and replace the
failed seals.
Hydraulic cylinder seal(s) failed.
Replace the seal(s).
Strong vibration while
operating the mower.
The PIC is deformed.
Inspect the PIC and replace it if
necessary.
Blades are missing from the mower deck.
Install the missing blades.
A mowing disc or drum is damaged.
Replace the damaged components.
The soil ripper / compactor roller is
damaged.
Replace the damaged soil ripper roller
or the failed compactor roller drums.
Beaters missing from the soil ripper
roller.
Install the missing beaters.
Oil leak from the gearbox /
gearbox overheating.
Too much oil in the affected gearbox.
Check the oil level.
The gearbox vent is clogged.
Replace the gearbox vent and check
the oil level.
The PTO shaft is not trimmed to size
between the tractor and the machine (if
the 1st gearbox is affected).
Trim the PTO shaft to size and repair
all failed components of the gearbox.
Change the lip seal if required.
Too much oil in the affected gearbox.
Check the oil level.
The gearbox is loud.
The PTO shaft is not trimmed to size.
Replace or trim the PTO shaft.
No oil in the gearbox.
Refill the oil as shown in the Use
Manual.
The blades on the adjacent
mowing discs collide.
The safety key of the mowing disc unit
is sheared.
Replace the safety key.
Oil leaks from the mower
deck.
Too much oil in the mower deck.
Check the oil level and drain until it is
correct.
The mower deck seal is compromised.
Check all threaded plugs for leaks and
retighten as necessary.

Repair
CAUTION!
All servicing, repairs and adjustments can only be attempted with the tractor
engine stopped, the mower discs stopped, with proper tools, and with protective
gloves.
Before any repair or assessment of continued operating worthiness, clean the machine
thoroughly of all cut material and dirt.
