6.1.2.

R AXLE

The R axle is driven by a servomotor equipped with plugs, mounted to a reducer.
The height adjustment of the back gauge beam is obtained by winding up a flat

belt of the same size as the Y axle drive.
As a result of the weight of the gauge assembly any tolerance that may occur in

the components is automatically corrected. By horizontally moving the drive as a
whole, the R axle can be set at equal height left and right. By moving the drive
1mm to the R1 side, the R1 side will drop 1mm and the R2 side will rise 1mm.

The height position of the R axle is set during start-up by detecting the height of
the R axle by means of a proximity switch and a measuring point on the wind-up

roll. Next, the initialization point is set on the motor’s resolver.
