Room-side facing
● The facing must be made of non-inflammable material.
● A fibreglass strip should be placed to cover the whole of the space between
the facing and the appliance.
● The facing must not prevent the glass door opening or closing.
● The facing does not need insulating if the free surfaces and the surfaces of the
areas designed for fuel storage cannot exceed a temperature of
85° C
. On sur-
faces made of mineral materials, for example ceramic tiles, upon which objects
might be placed, the
maximum temperature is 120° C
.
● Safety distances must be observed.
●
The materials used must meet the required thermal resistance standards and
not produce odours when heated over time. This is why materials containing
plastics should be avoided.
Decorative beams
Wooden beams must be protected on the inner side by a heat shield (El 30) with
permanent thermal resistance. The rear of the beam must be covered by a 5 cm
thick layer of brick, a cellular concrete fireproof panel or non-inflammable insula-
tion and covered by an non-inflammable EL 30 panel. There is no need to insu-
late the appliance, if there is a hot air chamber between the fireplace insert and
the outer casing.
