Chapter 4 Setting Up Your Cash Register - the Basics
Error Codes
Your cash register makes beeps and shows you messages in the display.
Some beeps and messages let you know everything is working and others
let you know you need to do something.
W hen a transaction is started in the Sales R egistration mode, you must
finish the sale before changing to another mode. T he cash register does
not allow you to return to the main menu until you finish the transaction
you started.
T he following table shows you error messages you may see on the clerk
display.

R egister Beep
T he cash register makes a short beep each
time a key is pressed. T his is normal and not a
cause for concern.
E ntry E rror Beep
W hen using your cash register, you must
perform all operations in the correct order. I f
you press the wrong key at the wrong time, a
continuous alarm beep sounds and you see a
message on the display. T he keyboard also
locks. Press the
Clear
key to stop the beep and
continue or follow the instructions on the
display.

CLERK# ERROR
A n invalid clerk number was entered.
